Animal Crossing (also known as Animal Village in Japan) is a relaxing game made by Nintendo. The game goes through a clock and calendar real time story of you, the new villager in a small town full of animals. While you live there, you learn to earn money, build a house, fish, hunt for bugs, dig for fossils and much more.
The first Animal Crossing Game to be released was for the Nintendo 64 in Japan in 2001 and then was eventually ported to the Gamecube in all other regions in 2004. It started out really simple with you just living in a house, going fishing for money and meeting the anthropomorphic animals that roamed throughout the foresty village. It wasn't until the release of Animal Crossing Wild World for the Nintendo DS in 2005 where things started change, in a good way. In Wild World, they added a style salon to change up your hair or add more accessories to your player and to your home. It also was the first game of the series to utilize Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. In 2008, Nintendo released Animal Crossing City Folk, which added new villagers, new customization for your player and your home and a whole other town to visit by riding the bus. It also the first Wii game to utilize the Wii Speak accessory for online play. And finally, the most recent release of the Animal Crossing Franchise is none other than Animal Crossing New Leaf, where the graphics are better, the players are now taller with more customization abilities and two parts to the town separated by a train station AND an island you can sail to. But the most important part of it is that now you're the new mayor of your town and you make the rules, even though you're still completing small tasks for the laziest animals alive. Sure this franchise doesn't necessarily have any action or excitement, but that's what the game is all about, it's very calming and creative and that's what makes it fun. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone looking for a relaxing game to play after rage quitting in COD or whatevers, |
