Jack the Ripper
A murderer, a clever fox, a guy who was off his nut. But, who was Jack the Ripper? How many victims were there, and why did he do it? In his file, it reports that eleven ladies were slaughtered by him alone. But in fact, there were only five that were victims of Jack and one that is to this day undetermined.
The actual killings started in Whitechapel England on August 31st, 1888 with the first victim being a woman by the name of Mary Nicholas. This isn't 100 percent proven since there was a murder before Mary but that is not proven whether it was by dearest Jack or not. The other victims were: -Martha Tabram -Annie Chapman -Elizabeth Stride -Catherine Eddowes -Mary Kelly Note that there were other victims in his murder file, but those were either found out not to be by Jack the Ripper or still undecided whether Jack had murdered them or not. It's surprising that to this day, people are still uncertain about how many women dear ol' Jack had actually killed. Our strange killer wouldn't just go out a kill the prostitutes, but he would also write letters (like the one he supposedly wrote to the right). It's said that he had written a few letters to the police practically gloating about the evil things he was going to do that night. He even gave himself the name, "Jack the Ripper. " One letter that I personally found the most interesting was the "From Hell" letter, where the Ripper sends a letter to the president of the Mile End Vigilance Committee, Mr. George Lusk. In the letter he writes about a women, Catherine Eddowes, and how he took out here kidney with a bloody knife. He also sent half of the kidney to Lusk and said that he'll send the bloody knife that cut it out later. For a while, Lusk thought that this note was a joke, and that the half kidney was from an animal. But when two doctors examine the kidney, they start to believe that it did come from the murder victim. That's nasty. There were a few suspects and suspicions about who dearest Jacky was. Some pointed fingers one way while others pointed in a different direction. The Ripper was thought to be many things, like a butcher or a surgeon, due to the cuts he made, the investigators thought that maybe he was an experienced meat cutter or that he was even in the medical field. |
One of The Ripper's famous letters written in red ink on July 17, 1888. Known as the "Dear Boss" letter, this was thought to be written by the killer, but was then found out by the police that it was 'allegedly' written by a journalist in hopes of the police revealing this to the public and it becoming a juicy story for the press.

Others suspect that this man was a scholar or even royalty! Here is the list of suspects. -Montague John Druitt -Micheal Ostrong -Aaron Kosminski -George Chapman -Thomas Cutbrush http://www.jack-the-ripper.org/suspects.htm (You can click the link above to get more info on these suspects. ) To this day, no one really knows who this Jack the Ripper fellow is. I'm not quite sure if anyone will know. Maybe it was supposed to be a mystery, to get people's attention and to keep a scary and very real story alive. |
The Wineville Chicken Coop Murders
So, in 1928 in California, there were these child abductions that got the whole areas attention. It's said that there was about 3 to as many as 20 little boys kidnapped by one man, along with his nephew and mother as accomplices. This is the Wineville Chicken Coop Murders.
Now, if you're not from California and/or never heard of this story, then you were probably thinking like me, and that this guy killed lots of chickens. He had chicken coops and owned a ranch, but Gordon Northcott was a disturbed and crazy man. In early September 1928 a Canadian women named Winnefred Clark reported that her nephew had kidnapped her son and was holding him in California. Winnefred's 15 year old daughter got very suspicious and went down to where her brother was being held to check it out. She traveled down from Canada down to Wineville, California to her uncle Northcott's chicken ranch where she stayed there for a few days, and that was enough to see what was really going on. After helping with attacking his own sister, Northcott's nephew, Sanford Clark, was sent to juvenile detention on immigration charges on September 15, 1928. There, he told investigators all about how his uncle kidnapping and sexually abusing him. Not only that, but he also admitted that Northcott made his nephew watch the abuse of quite a few little boys that he brought to the ranch. He explained that he had the boys at the ranch for a while, and when he got bored with them, he would take the children in the incubator so they could see the cute little chicks hatch. Then Northcott would chop there heads off with an ax and cover there bodies in quicklime to get rid of the evidence. That's freakin' nasty... The last thing he mentioned is that the investigators would find two graves at the end of the ranch. One of the boys that were murdered, Walter Collins, has a very interesting story. For more information on his story you can click the link below: http://www.crimelibrary.com/serial_killers/predators/gordon_stewart_northcott/3.html (I personally think that the story is very interesting, and sad ;( )Not only did Sanford Clark admit to Northcott's crimes, but his own father ratted his son out to the police. After that, the investigators and police were after Northcott, and he and his mother were on the run. |
Gordon Northcott Born: 1906, Saskatchewan, Canada Died: October 2, 1930 This is the farm that Northcott lived on and all the arrows point to where and bodies or evidence was found....
__________________________________________ Not only did Sanford Clark admit to Northcott's crimes, but his own father ratted his son out to the police. After that, the investigators and police were after Northcott, and he and his mother were on the run.
When the investigators visited the empty chicken ranch, they found the two blood drenched graves Sanford talked about, but there were no bodies there, just a few bones. Scattered across the ranch were ankles, finger, leg, and skull bones that had belonged to the child victims. They also found two bloody axes in the farm equipment that still had stands of hair sticking to it. On September 20, 1928, Gordon Northcott was found and arrested at Okanagan Landing in British Columbia and hanged on October 2, 1930. Even though the sick and twisted child murderer was executed, the poor families and friends of the victims were never able to see their children again. |
The Castle of H.H. Holmes
Miyuki Ishikawa
Now, this particular serial killer has a shorter story and isn't that well known in the United States, but she is pretty familiar in Japan. Miyuki Ishikawa was a midwife to Takeshi Ishikawa and a hospital director at the Kotobuki Maternity Hospital. While being married to her husband, they did not have any children. She was also the Japanese serial killer that was believed to have murdered an estimated number between 85 and 169 infants, but it was later found out that she had euthanized 103 babies.
During the 1940s, there were lots and lots of cute little babies in her maternity hospital. The reason for this was because the parents of the many babies at the hospital were very poor and they were unable to take care of their children. Ishikawa found this to be a bit of a problem, since she was unable to care for all of them by herself because of the lack of social and charitable services. With such a problem like this, Miyuki was running out of options and she didn’t know what she could do to help the helpless infants. So, Ishikawa decided to neglect many of the babies, who died as a result of this kind of abuse. The exact number is unknown but it’s most likely that 103 babies were deceased. Most of the other midwives that were working for Ishikawa found out about this and were horribly disgusted by the events that had taken place and quit their jobs. Later, Miyuki Ishikawa had attempted to garner payment for the murders of all the dead little babies. Both her and her husband Takeshi had solicited large sums of money from the former parents of the children. They claimed that it would actually be less money than raising the unwanted babies. A doctor by the name of Shiro Nakayama was also an accomplice with these schemes and aided the Ishikawa couple with death certificates. While the three were conning many parents, the Shinjuku ward office was ignoring their actions. When Miyuki was finally caught, and sent to court, the Tokyo High Court had only sentenced her to 4 years in prison. With a death toll that high, it’s absolutely ridiculous and when I read this, I found it unbelievable. Her day of her death is unknown to this day, but even after death she still holds the record in Japan for the highest death toll. |
